| What do William Becton, Stephen Hurd, Myrna Summers, Mo' Horns, Carmen Calhoun, Tyrone Powell, Kendall King, Eric Valentine and Allyn Johnson have in common? They've called on the expertise of Studio 51 to record their CD projects. Studio 51 is a private full-service multimedia source, specializing in audio and video recording, editing, mixing and mastering. With a crisp sound and an unsurpassed quality, which outshines even the masters of audio production, Studio 51 has churned out the best in contemporary and traditional music. Located in suburban Maryland, the studio has recorded and engineered musical masterpieces due to the proficiency of Brad Baerwald. |

| Baerwald is the visionary of Studio 51 and boasts over 20 years of experience behind the board. Previously the chief engineer with the renowned Studio House North, Baerwald had never planned to open his own recording facility when he departed Studio House North. "I thought when I left, I was supposed to find another studio to work in. After coming back from Barbados where I worked at Holders Studio creating 5.1 audio-only projects for a year, I searched for a job. It wasn't until we connected with Stephen Hurd, who wanted us to mix his project, Stephen Hurd and Corporate Worship, Volume 2, that God pushed us to open our own studio." | ||||
| In addition to Hurd, Baerwald has recorded, engineered, mixed and/or mastered hundreds of recordings including William Becton's hit "Be Encouraged," Carmen Calhoun's "When God Says Move," and Myrna Summers' soon-to-be-hit "Mountain Get Out of My Way." Already receiving accolades for his production and songwriting, Baerwald, along with Carmen Calhoun and Chan Ballantyne, took 2nd place in the Gospel/Christian category of 2004's International Songwriting Competition for their song "Broken and Blessed;" a win out of more than 11,000 worldwide entries. In 2005, the song won again-this time 1st place-in the Unisong International Songwriting Contest Gospel/Christian category. | ||||
| Calhoun raves about the studio and uses them for all her recording needs. Calhoun states, "Studio 51 makes you feel like you're at home. Not only is it a great place to record, with the latest equipment, but the atmosphere is one where you know the Holy Spirit resides; they give their all in everything they do." | ||||
| Baerwald's goal for the studio is that his work is a benchmark of excellence in the industry. "We want to set a standard - not in an egotistical way - where the unsaved say, 'Wow, look at those Christians! They're incredible. This guy does great work.' I don't want them to say that because I'm so wonderful, but because God is so wonderful." He also wants his record label, White Chocolate Records, to "have enough influence in the market to get our incredible artists heard." | ||||
